Mental Health

CNA prioritizes student mental health and well-being throughout every stage of the learning journey. Adolescence—especially the high school years—is a critical period where many students face heightened stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. At CNA, our programs are intentionally designed to safeguard student well-being while driving consistent academic growth. We strive to cultivate a positive, supportive learning environment that allows students to earn their high school credits with minimal unnecessary pressure. Below are the key support measures we offer to protect and promote students’ mental wellness:
Asynchronous, Self-Paced Learning
CNA’s online learning model empowers students to learn at a comfortable, individualized pace. Unlike traditional high schools with rigid schedules and fixed deadlines, our courses are fully self-directed. E-school students are granted up to one full year to complete any single course, enabling them to progress through coursework according to their personal capacity. This flexible structure allows learners to take intentional mental health breaks without the stress of falling behind in their studies.
Reasonable, Manageable Workloads
All CNA courses are carefully streamlined to meet official curriculum standards while maintaining a balanced workload. We have optimized course content and assessments to eliminate redundant tasks, ensuring students can master key learning objectives without experiencing overwhelming academic pressure.
Flexible Course Hold Options
We recognize that unexpected life events and mental or emotional strain can impact a student’s ability to learn consistently. For this reason, students may request a course hold for any reason, for up to one calendar month. Our administrative team can quickly process these requests via phone or email. For students in need of an extended hold due to medical or mental health conditions, we offer personalized, case-by-case accommodations with valid supporting documentation.
Comprehensive Student Support System
Every CNA course is backed by fully qualified OCT-certified teachers, experienced guidance counselors, dedicated administrators, and professional tutors. Our entire support team works collaboratively to help students achieve their academic goals in ways that align with their personal schedule, learning style, and well-being needs. Our guidance team specializes in personalized academic planning and scheduling support. Let Guidance know, so you can receive customized learning plans tailored to your unique goals, whether you are recovering lost credits, advancing ahead in your studies, fulfilling prerequisite requirements, balancing athletics and extracurricular commitments, or preparing for post-secondary admission. Our courses can be completed in as little as four weeks or extended up to one year, with regular progress check-ins and ongoing academic guidance from our team.
Personalized Learning Accommodations
Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) are eligible for customized learning accommodations to support their academic success. Students may submit their IEP documentation to our guidance to request tailored support. All accommodation arrangements are reviewed and approved by our guidance team on a case-by-case basis to ensure equitable and appropriate learning support.
